Former Forest Club Secretary Ken Smales is preparing a new book on the history of the club for publication later this year.
Titled, Nottingham Forest: The Official Statistical History, the book will cover details of every recorded Forest game in the 140 years from March 1866 to the end of the current 2005-06 season. Ken was club secretary between 1958 and 1987 but since his retirement he has continued to keep detailed records of every Forest match.
It isn't all be tables of information though, the book contains season by season reviews and a wealth of illustrations. Colour and black and white photographs showcase the development of the club with rare memorabilia and documents, some of which have never been seen before, providing a well-rounded history.
The 360 page volume will be available as a limited edition hardback which must be pre-ordered. Subscribers will receive individually numbered copies, have their names printed inside and have books signed by four former Forest legends: One of the oldest living Forest players, Tommy Capel, who formed a lethal striking partnership with Wally Ardron in the 1950s; Jeff Whitefoot who was a member of the 1959 FA Cup winning side; Ian Storey-Moore who hit 118 goals during the 1960s and early 1970s and Steve Stone the ex-England international and City Ground favourite.
This limited edition hardback version will not be available to buy in shops and must be ordered by July 31st 2006. The price is £29.99 + £4.99 P&P. A paperback version, which is not signed or numbered, will be on general sale in the autumn for £19.99. (Please email for overseas shipping quotes).
